Teacher's Day

Teachers are people who we sometimes take for granted. We sometimes overlook and don't see the amount of sacrifices they make. They work hard all day and all night to be able to share their knowledge to us, so what's better than appreciating all of our teachers with a day solely dedicated to them?

Of course, our school did not forget to celebrate this year’s Teachers' Day, because it is one of the most important school events which gives students a special day to thank and to appreciate their teachers. Before the students were called to the covered court for the Teachers' Day program, some students practiced their prepared performances for their teachers to watch. When the students were finally called to the covered court, the program immediately started with the opening prayer and the singing of the national anthem led by the SGB Officers. The introduction of all the teachers with the mayors of their respective advisory classes soon followed. Following the theme of Cartoon Network, the teachers entered flaunting their costumes which gave the students an opportunity to vote for who they thought wore the best costume. Following this was the dance performance of some of the Grade 8 and 9 students. After their applaudable performance, the teachers started playing different games that were prepared for them. After a few rounds of games and loud cheers, Sir Almer stood out as the winner who was later awarded with a trophy. Afterwards, the Grade 11 students also showcased the dancing and singing performances they prepared for the teachers. Before the program ended, a panoramic picture of the all students from Grades 3 to 11 who wore different colored shirts was taken.

The day didn't end there though, because after the students returned to their classrooms, classes resumed with the Grade 10 students in charge. They taught the students of the grade levels below them with their knowledge of their assigned subjects. When the clock hit 2:30, classes ended, and everyone went home as another successful Teachers’ Day came to an end.

This year’s Teachers' Day will surely be one of the most memorable events of the year not only for the teachers but also for the students as well. The celebration brought joy to everyone as the students showed lots of appreciation for their teachers, who are also called “our second parents”. Since there is no doubt that our teachers are extraordinarily great teachers, let's not forget the saying:

"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates, and the great teacher inspires."
